<< MISTRESSES >>

As you may know, (actually you SHOULD KNOW) Alyssa Milano has been cast in a new TV show called Mistresses. (HURRAY!!! I’m so f*cking excited! You don’t even know!!!!) So I thought I did a post maybe once a week with news and updates I find online.

What is Mistresses ?

In case you belong in the “don’t know” group, Mistresses is a remake of the UK series of the same name broadcasted on BBC from 2008 to 2010. It consists of 3 seasons with just 16 episodes in total. The U.S. remake has been ordered to series for 13 episodes by ABC and is set to premiere in May 2013, possibly after Bachelor/Bachelorette on Mondays.

It is described as:

“A provocative and thrilling drama about the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends -- each on her own path to self-discovery as they brave the turbulent journey together.

Who stars in Mistresses ?

Alyssa Milano plays Savannah (Savi) Davis, a successful attorney working toward the next phase in her life, both professionally and personally. She is trying to start a family with her husband Harry Dillon, played by Aussie Brett Tucker, while she flirts with Dominic Montgomery played by Jason George, a partner at her law firm. From the trailer, it is shown that Harry owns the restaurant "Savannah Kitchen". (How cute is that??)

Jes Macallan plays Savi's sister Josslyn Carver, a real estate agent. Chris Payne Gilbert is a married man who is having an affair with Josslyn. He has also played Billy Appleby in season 2 of Charmed. The guy in Phoebe's favorite movie "Kill It Before It Dies". Cool trivia, if you ask me!

Rochelle Aytes is April, a widowed mother of two, who is trying to get back into the dating scene. Cameron Bender stars as Richard , April's love interest. From the trailer, we learn that her deceased husband was cheating on her and his mistress was pregnant when he died.

Last but not least, the fourth ‘mistress’ is Yunjin Kim, who plays Karen. According to the wikipedia, Karen is a psychiatrist who is upset over the death of a patient with whom she was involved.

Erik Stocklin is Sam Gray whose mother will be played by actress Penelope Ann Miller. CSI's Gary Dourdan will be a detective who creates problems to Karen and Elizabeth Gray. Actor Matt Del Legro will be Karen's colleague. Mike Dopud is another guest star, whom you may remember from Smallville. He will play Olivier, a European who gets into business with Josslyn. Shannyn Sossamon has also joined the cast in an unknown till now role. Savi and Josslyn's mother will be played by JoBeth Williams, whom you know if you watch Private Practice as Addison's mother.

Something I noticed is that Savi's last name is Davis, while Josslyn's is Carver. At first I thought, she took her husband's name, but Harry's last name is Dillon. So, maybe Josslyn and Savi have different fathers. That's why they don't look alike that much.

According to Alyssa Milano’s tweets, 7 episodes have been filmed till now. Here are some backstage photos:

Alyssa Milano is the Boss!

Last night the 2010 VH1 Do Something! Awards were held in Los Angeles. Among the celebrity nominees was the outstanding Alyssa Milano, who won the Do Something on Twitter award. Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Jackman, Edward Norton and BP Global PR were the other nominees in the Twitter category, but Alyssa's almost 1 million followers decided that she deserves to win the award!

Twitter Queen, as her followers (including me of course!) call her, has been using twitter for over a year now. Her tweets include interesting news from all over the world, funny moments from her every day life, tweets about her big love baseball, but also about charity work. In December 19, Alyssa gave up her birthday and asked her followers to donate to Charity: Water, a nonprofit working to supply clean water to those in need. She managed to raise $92,568, which means 18 communities, 4628 people have clean water in Ethiopia! This has not only been extremely generous and helpful to the people that actually need it, but also has inspired many to follow on her footsteps. A recent example is Petra Hall, who has started a campaign on Charity: Water for her 21st birthday! You can check it out and donate HERE.

Alyssa thanks us on her twitter pagebut I want to thank her, because if it wasn't for her, we probably wouldn't even know about Charity: Water and nothing would have happened without her. Alyssa deserves that award and so much more as she has made a difference in the world by using twitter. She shows the good side of being a celebrity and uses her strong voice to help and inspire people. Personally, I feel like I know Alyssa more thanks to twitter. She has always been my favorite actress and I'm blessed to have the ability to communicate with her, thing I never thought I would be able to do and actually get replies back. Alyssa has great qualities, besides being gorgeous and talented, she also is sweet to everyone, kind, generous, funny and most importantly she is always real, which makes her the perfect role model.

Keep on being wonderful Alyssa!
